CICS Thesis/IT Project Title Defense Schedule 2nd Semester, SY 2009-2010

The following is the official list of approved proposals/topics.

Title defense notes and guidelines:

  • Submit 5 hard copy documents of your chapters 1-3 to your respective advisers as per their set submission date;
  • Follow the given format for chapters 1-3.
  • Inform your technical panelist (TP) about your scheduled defense. Your group’s TP is required to attend your title defense.
  • A group is scheduled to defend at 5:00pm on their given defense date. Should a group member be late or absent, the group will be marked as “waiting” and will be queued at the end of all initial and redefense schedules of thesis/IT project group in order to defend their work.
  • On your scheduled defense date, submit the original copy of defense receipts of all members before starting with the topic presentation.
  • Wear formal attire and name tags during your defense.
  • Prepare a short PowerPoint presentation (5-10 mins only) regarding your topic. Bring your own laptops.

CICS Thesis/IT Project Final Defense Schedule 2nd Semester, SY 2009-2010

Thesis and IT Project Titles have been identified for final defense starting January 2010.

   

Note the following:

  • There will be no re-defense. Endorsed groups will only be given a PASSED or FAILED mark for their final defense.
  • Endorsement of your completed document and system means that the group is ready to defend on the next available defense date schedule. Submission of endorsement forms, documents and letters will only be accepted at the CICS faculty room during weekdays between 8:00am – 5:00pm (CICS faculty room clock serves as the official time keeper).
  • For listed groups, endorsement starts on January 8 and ends on January 29. Available defense schedules starts on January 11-February 5.
  • For unlisted groups, endorsement is scheduled on February 5 only. Available defense schedules starts on February 8-February 23.
  • First-Come-First-Served (FCFS) rule is observed for scheduling of endorsed groups (refer to the flowchart). Only a single group is allowed to defend on a single date.
  • Five (5) hard copy documents must be submitted together with your Technical Panelist’s (TP) endorsement.
  • For the unlisted groups, each member should write in his own words a letter addressed to the adviser stating the reason for non-compliance to requirements or late submission of documents/system. The letter should also state why he together with his group should be endorsed for defense.
  • Coordinate and inform your TP regarding your defense schedule. Your TP should be present during your defense.
  • All members should have paid and submitted their defense fees before the scheduled defense.
  • Prepare five(5) tokens and five(5) meals for your panelists.
  • Wear formal/corporate attire and name tags (clearly printed out and laminated and worn at chest level) during your defense. Ladies are not allowed to wear slacks. Gentlemen should wear long sleeves with necktie.
  • Defense is scheduled at 5:00pm sharp of your chosen date unless otherwise stated. Group should be ready and should be at the venue 15 minutes before the set time.
  • Prepare a short PowerPoint presentation (5-10 minutes only) regarding your topic followed by a walkthrough of your system. Bring your own laptops and such other devices/documents which you may need.
